The 'Rainbow Damascus' series is a luxurious knife with exceptional design. The rainbow-like character of the blade is achieved by blending copper, brass, stainless, and carbon steel. The cutting edge itself is made of carbon steel aogami#2, a steel that takes an incredibly sharp edge and cuts very well. However, carbon steel is not stainless, so make sure to dry the blade thoroughly after use. If the blade is left in moisture, rust can easily develop on the carbon steel edge. Over time, the knife will develop a patina, adding character and personality.
Saji crafts the handle from stag horn, an exclusive wood that is very hard and contributes to the overall sturdy impression.
This is a truly beautiful and luxurious knife, hand-forged by the blacksmith Saji. He works in the Japanese city of Takefu, and Saji has long held the esteemed title of 'Dento Kogeishi', a title awarded by the Japanese government to the country's most skilled craftsmen.
