Santoku
The blade measures 170 mm and the model is called santoku. It is used as an all-purpose knife that is suitable for most tasks in the kitchen.
Takamura manufactures world-class chef's knives, and the new santoku knife from the Chromax series is no exception. The steel is fundamentally a carbon steel, but here, the chromium content has been maximized, resulting in an edge with impressive sharpness that lasts a long time and is easy to sharpen. The core steel is semi-stainless, which means it has good corrosion resistance, but it should still be dried thoroughly after use to prevent rust. A layer of stainless steel is placed on each side of the edge, leaving only the edge exposed carbon steel.
This is an incredibly sharp knife with a very thin edge that is easy to sharpen. It cuts like a razor, and we believe this is a real winner!
NOTE: Since the edge is semi-stainless, it will darken slightly over time. However, the blade sides will remain shiny and beautiful.
