Bunka | Hon San Mai Damascus

Bunka 193 mm – Custom Hand-Forged by Naoki Mazaki
A masterfully handcrafted Bunka with a 193 mm blade, created by one of Japan’s most sought-after blacksmiths, Naoki Mazaki. This unique knife is delivered in a Kiribox with handwritten Kanji by the master himself.
Honsanmai damascus literally means "True 3 layer damascus". This sounds like an contradiction in terms since sanmai and damascus indicates different number of layers. This is created by using a core steel that is inserted in a clad of damascus steel using traditional warikomi method. This creates a multi layer cladding in a C-shape around the core. That way its both damascus and sanmai at the same time.
Key Features:
✔ Exclusive Warikomi Design – The blade is hand-forged using the traditional warikomi method, where the soft iron cladding (Hon San Mai Damascus) itself consists of multiple layers.

✔ Exceptional Craftsmanship – Thick, rounded spine with a pronounced tapering towards the fine tip, creating a perfect balance between weight and precision.
