The knife is hot forged by hand in the carbon steel shirogami #2 with iron cladding. The edge is single-bevel (for right hand use) and the knife has a thick spine to give the blade the correct grind. The forging and sharpening of this knife is very precise and of high quality, something that is especially noticeable when you lay the ura flat on the surface. The handle is made of D-shaped ho-wood with bolster in buffalo horn.
