Sakai Kikumori is a knife brand from Sakai, Osaka, founded in 1926 by Kawamura Hamono as a wholesaler of knives from the region. The company is small, which makes it flexible and open to new ideas. All of its knives are handmade by local craftspeople, including blacksmiths Yoshikazu Tanaka and Satoshi Nakagawa and master sharpener Tomoyuki Ajioka. Kikumori has also received the Sakai Wazashu certification from the city’s Chamber of Commerce.
